General Terms
Welcome to Santa From Home. These Terms & Conditions apply to all services we provide, including live video chats with Santa, personalised letters, and any games or interactive features we make available on the website.
Each new feature or product may include its own specific terms, which will apply in addition to (not instead of) these general terms. By using our services, you agree to follow these rules.
- We always aim for minimal data storage and maximum privacy.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for all interactions involving children.
- Entertainment is provided “as is”; we cannot guarantee outcomes beyond our reasonable control.
Live Video Chats with Santa
When booking a live video session with Santa, the following terms apply:
- Adult Supervision: An adult must be present for the entire duration of the call. If a call is found to be unsupervised, we reserve the right to terminate immediately. At our discretion, we may continue recording after termination and share the video so that the child still receives some value.
- Bookings and Double Bookings: We use the Snag a Slot booking system. On rare occasions, double bookings may occur. If this happens, we will do everything possible to reschedule to a suitable time. If rescheduling is not possible, we will provide a full refund.
- Internet Connection & Technical Issues: Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection and working device. If connection problems prevent the call, we cannot accept liability. However, we will record and provide a personalised video message from Santa as compensation.
- Cancellations & Rescheduling: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please reply to your booking confirmation email (which contains your calendar invite and Google Meet link). Before suggesting new times, please check the booking system for available slots. We will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests, including times outside our usual hours if necessary.
- Recordings: Recordings are only created with parental consent at booking. They will be available for download for 30 days before being deleted. Recordings are for personal use only and must not be shared publicly (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, social media) without our written permission. Permission can be requested and will usually be granted.
- Liability: Live video calls are provided for entertainment purposes only. We are not liable for children’s emotional reactions (excitement, disappointment, distress) or for technical failures outside our control.
Santa Letters
We also offer a service where Santa writes personalised letters to children. To do this, we may collect:
- Child’s first name and age
- Interests (to personalise content)
- Responses to optional fun questions such as the child’s score on the Naughty List-ometer (0 = very naughty, 10 = very good)
This data is used only to produce the personalised letter. Letters are for personal, non-commercial use only. Parents/guardians are responsible for accuracy of information provided. We will delete this data after the Christmas period unless otherwise agreed.
Games & Interactive Features
From time to time we may add fun interactive elements (such as games, scoreboards, or Christmas wish list trackers). These are intended to bring joy and engagement but may involve minimal data collection, for example:
- An adult login to manage scores or wish lists
- Storage of simple preferences or saved progress
These features will come with their own specific terms when released. All will follow our guiding principle of keeping data collection minimal, secure, and privacy-focused.
Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy applies to all services we provide (video chats, letters, interactive features). We explain what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, and how long we keep it. In every case we collect only what is needed to deliver the service, and we delete or anonymise data as soon as reasonably possible.
Data Use & Retention
Depending on the service, we may collect:
- Child’s name, age, and wish list (for chats or letters)
- Parent/guardian contact email (for confirmations, recordings, letters, or login)
- Optional extras like interests, or playful metrics (e.g. Naughty List-ometer score)
- Booking metadata (time, date, and payment reference)
Retention: Child-related data is deleted after the Christmas season. Recordings are retained for 30 days unless otherwise agreed. Metadata may be kept briefly for admin and legal reasons. We never store billing information.
Liability & Disclaimers
Our services are provided for entertainment purposes only. We cannot guarantee outcomes beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Child’s emotional reactions (excitement, disappointment, distress)
- Technical failures of internet, devices, or third-party services
- Errors in information provided by parents/guardians
We are not responsible for commercial use of our content unless you have received written permission. Governing law: England & Wales.
